Shouldering the Load Together in the
Mount Mayon Volcano Disaster


The active volcano, Mount Mayon, erupted on 27 February 2000 near the end of Exercise BALIKATAN 2000. It forced tens of thousands of Filipinos in villages near Legazpi City to abandon their homes.



Philippine and U.S. personnel unload some of the 55 large tents donated by the U.S. for an additional refugee center for families made homeless.
