Balikatan 2000 Renews U.S.—Philippines Military Engagement



BALIKATAN 2000 is the first major combined Philippines-U.S. exercise since 1995. Balikatan, which means "shouldering the load together," provided the opportunity for Filipino and American troops to cross train in both conventional military and humanitarian operations.
