Some
of the 40 U.S. sailors and Marines from the USS John C. Stennis
(CVN 74) donated their off duty time to partially restore St.
Barnabas, a small Hong Kong community shelter for the elderly
and homeless, putting in new floors, and restoring and painting
walls and window frames.

many unofficial American submarines going back to 7 September 1776,
the U.S. Navys first official submarine was the USS Holland
(SS-1), commissioned 12 October 1900.
