Platoon size units from the armies of Bangladesh, Nepal, and from the U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division (Light) from Hawaii joined a unit from the Sri Lanka Army to train in multinational peacekeeping that countries may participate in the future. The exercise was similar to that conducted in the Partnership for Peace Scenario at the Joint Readiness Training Center in the United States.

The Royal Nepalese Army hosted the two-week exercise at the Army’s Peacekeeping Training Centre at Panchkhal. Called Exercise SHANTI PRAYAS by Nepal, the name means, "to keep peace."

Military personnel from 18 other nations observed the exercise. These countries included Australia, Canada, China, Fiji, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Madagascar, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Tonga, and the United Kingdom.
