Capable) land at Shoalwater Bay Training Area in the combined Australian-U.S.
exercise CROCODILE 99. |
The opportunity to
engage in full combined arms live firing exercises, including 155mm artillery,
air strikes and naval gunfire support, was a major plus for United States
Marine Corps units participating in the combined/joint CROCODILE 99 Field
Training Exercise (East) in Queensland and New South Wales, Australia.
Australias
Shoalwater Bay Training Area provided 1,000 U.S. Marines of the
31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) with
exceptional training opportunities.
