Bridges of Friendship: India's International Fleet Review
- continued -
Vice Adm. James W. Metzger, Commander of the U.S. Seventh Fleet, addresses the panel of speakers during the International Maritime Seminar.

Cmdr. Trevor Jones, Commanding Officer of the Australian guided missile frigate HMAS Darwin (FFG-04), commented on the shared camaraderie of all seamen and the value of professional interchange. "All mariners share a common fear; that is the threat of the ocean. We all share a common work environment and a common enjoyment in the line of work that we undertake." He continued by saying, "It’s a real opportunity to get together with each of the navies and share common interests and dialog."

The musical events truly brought a sense of camaraderie to the occasion when all musicians performed an "International Medley" together on stage of the Dr. Jamshed Bhabha Auditorium. The musicians and audience joined hands and sang the tune, "It’s A Small World After All," while local school children paraded flags of the world at the conclusion of the concert.

The International Maritime Seminar was opened by Adm. Sushil Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff, who welcomed the 30 nations represented at the seminar. Other speakers addressed various topics and discussed the challenges faced concerning multinational and regional maritime cooperation. The floor was then opened for question-and-answer sessions.
