PACS Means Cooperation

PACS members have helped spread the system across the Pacific during the past four years. The PACS Master Cross Reference List (MCRL) is the system's flagship product.  It provides NSN data on 9 million items, including data from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and the United States.

The goal is to provide a basis whereby PASOLS countries operating in disaster relief and peacekeeping missions or in military exercises can effectively exchange logistics support.

The PACS Forum held its annual meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in June 2001.  Representatives from 13 PASOLS countries attended: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Thailand, Tonga and the United States.

Member nations stay in touch between forums through Web sites, a newsletter and e-mail. Logisticians freely speak the NCS language and exchange advice and information.  The effort is an example of what members seek to promote in the Pacific - cooperation.
