Exercise COOPERATION AFLOAT READINESS AND TRAINING (CARAT) 2001 brought naval forces of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and the U.S. together for a series of bilateral exercises.  A U.S. Navy SH-60 Navy helicopter refuels from the USS Curts (FFG 38) without landing during CARAT maneuvers off Brunei’s coast.
