Pacific Armies Management Seminar

Some members of the 33 atending Asia-Pacific armies participate in a syndicate of the 24th Pacific Armies Management Seminar (PAMS), held in Tokyo, Japan



Delegates discuss various aspects of the PAMS theme, "Army Roles in the 21st Century."



Japan’s PAMS co-host, Lt. Gen. Teruhisa Koyanagi, Commandant of the Ground Self-Defense Force Staff College, presents the U.S. co-host, Lt. Gen. E. P. Smith with a memento during the closing ceremony



Approximately 105 delegates attended the 24th PAMS, which coincided with the 50th anniversary of the co-host, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.

The senior Malaysian delegate, Maj. Gen. Datuk Khairuddin bin Mat Yusof, receives the PAMS flag at the seminar’s conclusion. Malaysia will co-host the 25th PAMS in Malaysia in September 2001.
