Delegates discuss various aspects of the PAMS theme, "Army Roles in the 21st Century."

The "Arch of the Rainbow to the 21st Century," the symbol for the seminar, was prominently displayed at the reception. The rainbow signified the bridge between the 20th and 21st centuries and the bridges between countries in the Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean regions. The colors red, yellow, and blue indicate the Indian Ocean, Asia and Pacific Ocean areas respectively, with the red representing the equator along the center of the Indian Ocean region; the yellow symbolizing the earth of the Asian region and the blue indicating the Pacific Ocean region.

The senior Malaysian delegate, Maj. Gen. Datuk Khairuddin bin Mat Yusof, receives the PAMS flag at the seminar’s conclusion. Malaysia will co-host the 25th PAMS in Malaysia in September 2001.
