In
a continuing effort to make the training more realistic and relevant
to all participants, the Royal Thai Supreme Command invited Singapore
to participate in the actual exercise. Because many military planners
believe multilateral responses to regional contingencies are likely
to be the norm in the future, as was demonstrated in East Timor, it
is imperative that friends and allies in the region train together to
improve interoperability, techniques, and procedures, and to build cooperative
relationships.
