U.S.
and Thai ships next transported Thai and U.S. Marines ashore. "There
were U.S. and Thai Marines on every ship," said Thai Cmdr. Suwaree
Warobom, an operations planning officer for the NEO operation. "This
was truly a combined operation."
A
Landing Craft Air Cushion, a Landing Craft Utility boat, and CH-46 helicopters
transported U.S. and Royal Thai Marines to the beach. Once ashore, the
Marines worked together to secure the area and establish a defensive
perimeter.
