In this al-Qaida video captured in Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden boasts of the destruction caused by terrorist suicide teams who crashed four hijacked U.S. airliners into the World Trade Center’s twin towers in New York, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and a field in Pennsylvania, killing almost 3,000 American and foreign men, women and children.

On 11 September 2001, a horrific event took place in American history — an event that has dramatically changed America’s policies, popular attitudes, and global actions. On that day, about 3,000 men, women and children were murdered in the most horrifying manner. On that day, 19 terrorists acting on behalf of an Islamic terrorist organization hijacked four commercial airliners. They crashed two airliners into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. They crashed a third plane into the Pentagon building in Washington DC. Brave passengers struggled against the hijackers in the fourth plane, diverting it from its likely target in Washington, DC. Passengers on all four planes went to fiery deaths.
