A Canadian
SAR medic assisted by a Russian SAR specialist assesses a mock
victim ( a U.S. SAR specialist) in the triage area.
|
The exercise scenario
involved parachuting into the site of a mock commercial airliner crash,
triaging the victims, and transporting them to emergency medical facilities
as quickly as possible. The objectives included maximum use of U.S. equipment
and tactics and minimum use of translators, so English and Russian-speaking
troops could learn to work together quickly and effectively at a crash
site where they would probably encounter far more casualties than interpreters.
