Malaysian Army officer shows Col. Scott Page, the U.S Army Attaché
to Thailand, some Malaysian Army jungle survival skills, during a
jungle display for PAMS delegates. |
One
interesting activity was the delegates visit to the Malaysian Armys
"Friendly Jungle" display at the nearby Commonwealth Park, where
Malaysian Army personnel demonstrated jungle survival skills.
The
week in Kuala Lumpur also included several social activities, giving the
delegates the opportunity to experience the colorful local culture and
to get to know each other better. The spouses accompanying the delegates
also enjoyed the unique culture and rich history of Malaysia through a
daily program of activities, including trips to the famous city of Malacca,
the Batu Caves, the Selangor Pewter works, and the Petronas Towers, the
tallest buildings in the world.
Lt.
Col. Pg Hj Rosli bin Pg Chuchu of Brunei, a first time participant in
PAMS, expressed the value of PAMS XXV when he said, "Seminars like
this give an opportunity to collect valuable information and make contacts
that will be useful in the future. We do not know when we may operate
together in the future in UN Missions and therefore the exchange of information
and the country presentations and their experiences are very useful to
me."
