PACC II

PACC is a biennial, multinational, executive defense forum co-hosted by the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army and the chief of another regional army. PACC fosters senior-level, military-to-military cooperation, develops interpersonal relationships and contributes to regional dialogue and stability.

Held concurrently with the PAMS seminar in Kuala Lumpur, PACC II brought together army chiefs of staff equivalents from 17 countries. PACC II’s theme was "The Challenges of Interoperability in the New Millennium."

PACC II co-host, Malaysian Chief of Army Gen. Tan Sri Dató Md Hashim bin Hussein, recounted the value of the week’s activities. "The results and resolutions derived from the various bilateral and multilateral meetings can enhance our operational efficiency and close coordination with member nations in the new millennium," Gen. Hashim said. He also thanked USARPAC "for giving us the privilege to host both PAMS and PACC in Kuala Lumpur," and he thanked member countries "for their enthusiastic participation and contributions."

PAMS XXV

During the week, PAMS delegates promoted fellowship by participating in the "Inter-Syndicate Sports Program" that challenged them both physically and mentally. They divided up into their syndicate groups and played volleyball and some Malaysian games. The delegates clearly enjoyed themselves and helped add to the bridges of understanding and goodwill.
