Promoting Peace in the Asia-Pacific:
Multinational Conferences

Each year, hundreds of military and civilian leaders from the nations of the Asia-Pacific region meet to discuss a wide range of important subjects. They hear briefings on new technology or the latest developments in their area of expertise, but most importantly they interact. The following is a sampling of the numerous conferences, symposiums and seminars sponsored or co-sponsored by U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) each year.

Each conference offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and to establish personal relationships which cross national boundaries, many times between perceived adversaries. USPACOM considers this information exchange and engagement between nations essential to promoting transparency, understanding and good relations between the armed forces of the region.

The end result is greater cooperation and trust, which contributes directly to peace and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific.
